Stratos satellite communications

Stratos Global are providing the Raymarine Lively Lady Project with a complete satellite communication package to ensure that Lively Lady is never out of touch, wherever she is in the world. The system that has been selected is the latest "Fleet 33" package which uses a compact antenna dome which fits well on Lively Lady.

Stratos Fleet 33 is the third member in a family of "next generation", ocean-going, satellite communications systems. Evolving from the highly successful Inmarsat A, B and M services, Stratos Fleet family offers higher bandwidth IP from lightweight, compact stabilized antennas.

Stratos Fleet 33 delivers many of the benefits once reserved for Fleet 55 & Fleet 77. Operating within Inmarsat spot beam areas, (coverage map), you can expect a cost effective solution for analogue fax and data transmission. Voice services are carried on the global beam. A key feature of Fleet 33 is Mobile Packet Data Service (MPDS) which provides "always on" connectivity. Truly cost effective, this shared channel allows speeds of up to 64kbps delivery to your vessel and 28.8kbps back to shore. Perfect for messaging, email, web browsing and other data applications. As your primary piece of communications equipment Stratos Fleet 33 provides you with the performance required offshore by you and your crew.

Stratos Fleet 33 antenna is small and lightweight at just 1.5 kg, for the below decks unit and 8 kg for the radome. Easy to install, this stabilized unit provides the robust global reliability previously reserved for "big ship" installations. The Fleet 33 service is perfectly suited to meet the requirements of inshore fishing fleets, pleasure yachts and coastal patrol vessels.
