Victoria Henton

Victoria Henton is 17 years old and comes from Cosham in Portsmouth. She goes to Havant College and is studying English, History, Law and Psychology.

Through her involvement with the project she hopes to learn new skills that will help her with the rest of her life, as well as to meet new people and make new friends.

She feels she's learnt a lot already through the training she's done so far. As she said, "Already I feel I have learnt that working as a team is very important when you are doing something like this. And that communication and listening to what others have to say is also important because it means you will have more of an idea of what is going on."

She's done plenty of fundraising too. She's involved with a marching band (TS Explorer) and persuaded them to go down to Gunwharf to play near the boat, did a 15 mile sponsored walk around Langstone Harbour and did bag packing with the rest of the team. As well as that she plans to continue to be involved in all the other fundraising the team has planned.

When asked what she was most looking forward to, Victoria said, "I loved doing my first leg just over a year ago, when we went from Acapulco to Cabo St Lucas. Now I can't wait to get on the boat again".
